Gde ćete biti

Cahersiveen, Kerry, Ирска

Kells is an old picturesque fishing village situated halfway between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen, located within the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve. It is a quiet and peaceful place undisturbed by recent developments and is home to Kells Beach, one of Kerry's Blue Flag beaches. There are simply beautiful views of Dingle bay and the Blasket Islands from this region. You will get great views of Dingle Bay when you to go to an area close by called "mountain stage". From here with the mountains as a backdrop (old railway tunnels run through the mountain from a bye gone era) you can get great views, weather permitting, of the coastline. The beautifully engineered "Gleesk Viaduct" (an old railway bridge) built in 1892 can also be seen from here. If you are into hill walking then a stage of the "Kerry Way" passes here, an ideal days activity.
Kells Beach is a lovely sandy beach with a small harbour. It is an idyllic spot. It is small and sheltered, the sand is fine and there are many rock pools to explore, fascinating for children.
Close by is Kells Bay House and Gardens with almost 18 hectares of sub tropical planting and forest. Well worth a visit and also including a great Thai Restaurant, perfect for lunch or dinner.
Rossbeigh Beach, 12 Km away, is a lovely long sandy beach ideal for family days out, horse trekking, long walks and water sports. Rossbeigh is located about 3Km from the village of Glenbeigh on the Ring of Kerry. There is a great children's playground here. There is ample parking at the start of the beach and several places to eat in the nearby village of Glenbeigh making it an ideal choice for a day by the sea!
Dooks Golf Club is among the friendliest of clubs, it has a charming clubhouse and bar. Opened in 1889, it is one of Ireland’s oldest links. Sixteen of the holes have been redesigned in recent years, without changing the quaint character of this special, if deceptive, 6,000-yard track where scores are generally hard-earned. Also home to the protected Natterjack toad, which features on the club’s logo.
As part of the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry is the Kerry tourist trail - the mystical & unspoilt region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. Its spectacular beauty is beyond question and it is a natural centre for outdoor pursuits that include golf, water-sports, cycling, walking, running, riding and the very best fishing in freshwater rivers for salmon & trout and at sea for bass, ray, pollack, conger eel, cod, flounder, wrasse, mullet, mackerel and tuna.
A visit to the outstanding Skelligs Rock must be booked in advance; it is a day’s trip and sure to be memorable. Close to Portmagee village where you board the boat to the Skelligs, a visit to the Skelligs Chocolate factory is a must. Tasty chocolate and amazing views make it a worthwhile trip.
The Ring of Kerry provides an amazing insight into the ancient heritage of Ireland - the Iron Age Forts & Ogham Stones, Old Monasteries and a landscape carved out of rock by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. Derrynane & Caherdaniel in particular have spectacular views.
