Our gallery/home is our full-time residence. We offer 'adult only' guests and a single, well-behaved pet a unique opportunity to experience a true Bed & Breakfast.
Replete with contemporary rustic furniture and sculpture, our home sits a stone's throw from Roaring Fork Creek in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (GSMNP).
An easy walk to Gatlinburg's 'strip'. Sounds of nearby construction are now being subdued by birds and roaring water. We are in a unparalleled situation.

Prostor
Unlike many homes at the top of steep hills, we are located across the street from a major stream just below the GSMNP. The sound of cascading water is ever present and soothes our guests to a thorough state of tranquility. We invite you to relax, unwind and enjoy.

Our home, especially in winter, is accessible by almost every vehicle. All those capable of reaching Gatlinburg can arrive at our home. No four-wheel drive vehicle required. Parking available for only one vehicle.

Much of the furniture in the home has been created in our workshop. Examine the exquisite details and craftsmanship. Our line of furnishings has been labeled ‘Contemporary Rustic’. Appropriate for any interior, many are fashioned from solid, virgin timber harvested in the 1920's. No pesky hardware. Mortise and tenon construction is the norm.

If you are interested in a piece herein, many are for sale. Our guests receive a preferred status on pricing. We accept commissions from our stock of semi-finished lumbers. Define a space to fill, give us a budget, name a specie of wood and we will provide a sketch to define what could become your newest heirloom. Contact us directly for more information.

Our neighborhood is defined by the Roaring Fork Creek. This area, heavily impacted by the fires, has rebounded earnestly. This large tributary of the Pigeon River drains a substantial area of the GSMNP. We suggest driving the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail (Closed to vehicles 12/1 thru 4/1). This lovely area is accessed from lights #6 (the Subway Shop) or #8 (Bubba Gump Shrimp) in Gatlinburg. Drive into the Park for 3 miles to explore Ogle’s cabin and farm.

Further along, turn right when you see the sign for Gatlinburg 3 miles straight, or 6 miles to the right. We consider this our six mile driveway and it is well worth the extra time. Original farms are preserved on this trek, giving us an idea of how ‘good’ were the good ole days.

Several wonderful hikes branch off this section of motorway. Rainbow Falls (a moderate 5.5 miles roundtrip) or further along, Grotto Falls (an easier 2.6 mile route) are two of the most popular destinations in the Park. Get there early in order to get a parking spot close to the trailhead. Hiking an additional 1.7 miles past Grotto Falls provides solitude and a stunningly beautiful view from Brushy Mountain of the Appalachian Trail Ridge. Pack a lunch, sit and enjoy. It is one of our favorite places on earth.

Pioneer cemeteries, delightful brookside pull-offs, and a painted house, the first ever in what is now the GSMNP, lies along this route. One of the last natural places on the Motor Trail, ‘A Place of a Thousand Drips’ is worth a stop. Though only one mile from home, you will be stunned by the beauty, if only you can relax enough to pause. The wildfires swept into east Gatlinburg through this section of the Park. The ferocious winds drove the fire along the ridge above these historic places. Though much of our neighborhood was later obliterated lower in this valley, we are grateful to have these irreplaceable structures still available.

Following your excursion you will exit through Ely’s Mill. Stop and peruse one of the earliest neighbor’s emporium. There is always something of interest at the site of a pioneer entrepreneur's complex. This is a spot at which I often display my art and demonstrate my techniques.

Finally, turn left at the stop sign, keep the car in low gear, and coast down the road. You will be home in a minute.

Diane, my wife, and I have retired. We are beginning to travel more from Gatlinburg, TN exhibiting my sculptural art, playing duplicate Bridge, and experiencing the vast natural world around us.
My artworks range in size from 12" to over seven feet in height, their weight ranging from a couple ounces to over 800 pounds. Their remarkably smooth, lustrous feel have impressed a wide range of persons - infants, children, cynical adults, the blind, the adventurous and even some of my friends who, late in life, have become 'non-responsive'.
Pieces of my work are scattered throughout our Tennessee home and, some of the most impressive, travel with us to be enjoyed by fellow travelers, fellow hosts, and friends we have not yet had the pleasure of meeting.
We have been hosting on Airbnb since early 2016 in Gatlinburg, TN. As hosts, we attempt to provide the best experience possible. As guests, we hold ourselves to an equally high standard of cooperation and respect.

Arrangements for breakfast can be made (see menus below). Following a nutritious (and delicious) breakfast, prepare for your adventure in the GSMNP. We are avid hikers, one of us prefers the uphills, one the downhills. Our equipment for outdoor activities are available to guests. We are not guides, but you might want to accompany us on a hike to a secluded spot far from the crowds. Return home after seeing the wonderful sights, shower, and relax while you prepare a supper in our chef's kitchen. We have a few favorite restaurants that we might suggest if you want to dine out. If you desire, a sumptuous dinner can be prepared for sharing. The costs for this, a second meal, would be discussed upon arrival.

Our experience as restauranteurs allows you a delectable time away from the rat race. When people ask us, “Where is the best meal in town?,” the response has always been, “158 Roaring Fork Road, when we are there.” As in any resort town, eateries are loud, expensive and rarely culinary gems. Don’t forget the wait in line. Dine at our table… comfortably.
