Two bedroom cottage in the heart of real rural Ireland. Our comfortable holiday home in County Kerry is close to the tourist attractions of Listowel, Castleisland, Ballybunion and Tralee, while Killarney and Dingle are also easy drives away. The house is a perfect place to relax with your family and enjoy some peace and quiet. Or, enjoy it while working from home - enjoying broadband speeds of between 18-25 MgB.

This cosy cottage in the middle of the Irish countryside has been enjoyed by four generations of our family - and we are now willing to share it with the Airbnb community.
Built by my grandfather more than 50 years ago, it is now owned by my parents who have painstakingly cared for it and updated it over the past 30 years.
When they inherited it, the house had an outside toilet, no central heating and few cooking facilities.
Today, it boasts two double bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, bathroom with an electric shower and a jacuzzi bath, and a comfortable sitting room with open fire.
The cottage is well connected for the 21st century, with the 3 network providing good internet speeds for downloading, streaming and home working. Typical speeds are between 18 and 25 MgB (the home owner is a former IT engineer so keen on these things!)
The secret of our Irish cottage is not the building itself, but the countryside it is nestled in.
Friends who have visited over the years have always enjoyed the peace and quiet, the stunning views and the ability to open the door and allow the children to go off and explore in complete safety.
The house sits in a small hamlet of six properties - the closest of which is the family home of a lady who my dad when to primary school with.
Lyrecromphane is a short drive to the bustling towns of Castleisland, Listowel, Tralee and the beaches and golf courses of seaside town Ballybunion.
The Wild Atlantic Way can be picked up close to Tralee while the delights of Killarney and Dingle are also a short drive away.
Locally, the nearest pub The Four Elms, or "Roches" as it is known, is a mile away while a local post office offers petrol, newspapers and groceries.

We take Covid seriously and have a minimum 1-day block on bookings before and after any guests arrive and depart.
Our housekeeper also works as a dental nurse and is therefore very aware of current cleanliness guidelines.

This cottage in Kerry has been a huge part of my life for more than 40 years. Every summer holiday was spent here in Ireland as it is my dad's childhood home.
He inherited it more than 30 years ago, and since then we - as a family - have renovated, restored and improved it into its current condition.
My parents still regularly spend time at the house and always look to improve it.
We have had many family and friends stay at the cottage and have now opened its doors to the wider Airbnb community.
As the description explains, this is a real Irish community and allows visitors to experience that and also some serious peace and quiet in a world where that is sometimes either hard to find, or manufactured.
My dad went to school with the lady across the road, the gardener is his cousin, he played Gaelic football with the local bar owner... the cottage allows you to be part of the community during your stay. Enjoy it.
