A charming bungalow in Sheffield Mills, 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, one with air-con, a futon and a large sectional in the living room, which also has a large smart TV with HDMI hook up, Hi-Speed Fibre Op, a large dine-in kitchen, laundry facilities, private back deck & use of the swimming pool in the summer months. Close to Wolfville and many local wineries and golf courses within minutes. Great space for families in beautiful surroundings.

2 queen size bedrooms, with full closets, one with air-con and one with a walk out to a small deck to watch sunsets over the North Mountain or bald eagles from the nearby Eagle Watch. A full kitchen with all conveniences (stove, microwave, large fridge, all cooking utensils) your own laundry facilities, new bathroom and large sitting room with large screen TV to connect you to Netflix. The sectional and futon can be used for 2-3 extra guests and the room is large enough to also accommodate an air mattress if you needed to. Keyless entry for your convenience, your own private deck and patio areas with BBQ facilities and access to the pool of the main house in the summer months complete this little piece of paradise. Due to recent events, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations and should you have any allergies, we will use fragrance free laundry detergents and cleaning products whenever requested.

Being in the heart of the Valley is just one of many reasons why staying at Ranmoor Lodge is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or just a chance to rejuvenate the soul. With so many farmers markets, wineries, breweries, golf courses and activities happening, there is much to see and do. Many guests who had booked for two nights, wished they had booked for the whole week or even longer when they realized how accessible everything is.

PLACES TO GO/RECOMMENDATIONS:

Sheffield Mills/Canning has some beautiful sights to see and great places to visit. Here are some recommendations in and around the area.

Canning:
Only a few minutes from Ranmoor Lodge, is Dickie Baxter Taproom and Bistro, the latest addition to this artsy town. Only open a few months (opened in the Fall of 2021) and it has already caused quite a stir amongst us foodies. A renovated circa 1852 historical home, turned into Canning's latest hot spot.

The Village Coffee House is another great place to relax and recharge, and the chic, urban feel makes it feel like home to visitors and tourists alike. Nestled in among the seasonal ArtCan Gallery & Café, Aspinall Pottery, The Landing Spa & Studio and Esmé (fashion boutique), all backing on to the Habitant River, providing a scenic pastoral view.

The Canning Village Meat Market is the Valley’s hidden gem for all your BBQ steaks, burgers and artisan sausages. Also, check out Sea Level Brewing at the Millstone Harvest Brew House, Nova Scotia’s first Estate Brew House, only a minute from the Lodge.

Halls Harbour:
Hall's Harbour is a picturesque fishing community located along the shore of the Bay of Fundy, in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It lends its name both to the small fishing hamlet and to the wider community which takes up an area roughly 5 kilometers square. On the south, the area overlooks the Annapolis Valley, on the north overlooks the Bay of Fundy, on the east Sheffield Vault and on the west Chipman Brook. The area is very scenic and the hamlet itself has been declared a Nova Scotia Tourism Destination Area. The Harbour boasts a fine restaurant and newly renovated lobster pound, artists studios, antiques and artisans galleries.

The Look Off:
Blomidon Look-Off is on top of the North Mountain in the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley region. It is a small roadside stop on the way to Scots Bay, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Annapolis Valley. On a clear day, you can see five counties from the look-off.

Scots Bay:
Scots Bay Provincial Park, situated in the Bay of Fundy and Annapolis Valley region, is a small picnic area with beach access on Wharf Road. Watch as the world's highest tides rise and fall before your very eyes!

Eagle Watch:
From December to February Sheffield Mills, just 5 minutes from Canning, becomes a great sightseeing destination for those who enjoy eagles. Residents of the Community have turned the last two weekends in January into an ever growing event. Along with the population of eagles, the watch now features other events such as pancake breakfasts, and musical entertainment. The event has grown in popularity over the years, and now reportedly brings in over a 1000 visitors to watch the soaring eagles. There are even tours from Halifax which bring bus loads of people from the city to see this and other Annapolis Valley attractions.

Every October, Wolfville is the home for Devour Film Fest - an amazing culinary experience mixed with amazing films and is a mecca for all foodies and film buffs alike.

Hi there,

My name is Bridget and my husband is Kirk. We're originally from the UK and moved to Nova Scotia in 2007, instantly falling in love with the place. We have two beautiful daughters and two crazy dogs (Willow and George) and we are very fortunate to live in this stunning Century home in Canning NS. We love to meet new people and socialise, however, we also respect peoples privacy. When we travel, we also use AirBnB so we understand what it's like to stay in a 'home away from home' and try to cater for our guests the way we want to be catered too. I love a large comfy bed, plenty of towels, a hairdryer and access to breakfast facilities and have tried to make sure that travellers staying in Ranmoor Lodge have access to all these things too. If you want to travel light and need something extra, just ask and 9 times out of 10 we should be able to accommodate.

I am a photographer by profession and love nothing more than getting outdoors to capture the beautiful countryside we have around us, so if you need some help planning where to go or places to see, once you have booked with me I can recommend great places to visit and touristy things to do.
