Oceanfront Cottage at the Arrow Pearling Base, 2 hour drive from Broome on the Mid Dampier Peninsula. With 2 bedrooms & a space for a single sleeper (byo bedding), simple bathroom and large open concept for dining, kitchen & living areas, this breezy beach retreat has an airy relaxed feel. In the tradition of Pearling Masters, the cottage is furnished with pearling relics and natural history artefacts. The sundeck looking out over the bay completes what is unquestionably a very special place.

The Pearling Masters Cottage, a private self-contained space on the waters edge is situated independently from other buildings and other accommodation at the Pearling Base. Whether it's peaceful seclusion guests are after, a beachhouse with a private beach or a very nice place to stay while adventuring out on the Dampier Peninsula, the Pearling Masters Cottage is truly one of the ‘Jewels Of The Kimberley’.

The cottage caters well for 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, each has a queen size bed - linen & towels are supplied for the 4 guests. In addition, if there’s an extra person in your group, there’s room in the living area for a single sleeper. You’d need to bring the bedding & towels (available for hire from Broome) for the extra person.

For guests with a baby, a portacot is available (complimentary). You’ll just need your own cot linen.

Visiting a remote Pearling Base is an unusual adventure in itself. The Pearling Masters Cottage is positioned on the property for maximum privacy and forms part to the fascinating story that is the Australian Pearling story. Pearl appreciation discussions can be arranged and you’ll learn about the changing face of the world renowned Australian Pearling industry.

There’s a re-purposed pearl shell pegging tank, filled with fresh water, in a small wooden deck on the sand dune immediately out the front of the cottage, providing an opportunity for a relaxing dip while enjoying views over the bay. The deck is a great place to gather as the sun sets.

Located oceanside is the cottage fire pit. We will supply firewood for your first fire - and if guests want to collect their own, we will advise where best to collect it from. You may like to consider bringing your own firewood or purchasing bags from Broome.

Located on the shores of Beagle Bay, 136kms north of Broome, the Pearling Masters Cottage at the Arrow Pearling Base is one of a kind on the Dampier Peninsula. Most activities up here are based around the water, including the whale migration (winter months), catching fish, beach walks, swimming, getting to know the rare birds that frequent the inter-tidal zone, stargazing or just enjoying special moments of stillness in a quiet place, where the bushland and the ocean are equally amazing.

We are located in close proximity to the famous Beagle Bay Church, with the pearl shell altar. Guests staying at the Pearling Base can do day trips to sites of interest around the Dampier Peninsula.

Since the bio-security lockdown was enforced for Aboriginal Communities in the northwest of Australia due to Covid-19, there are limitations on visiting some communities. It’s important to check before making plans to enter local Aboriginal communities.

As we are in a remote location, Telstra is the only telephone and data service accessible. There is no wi-fi at the Pearling Base.

As we are in a remote location, either myself or one of our team will be available around the clock to attend to any questions or concerns guests may have during their stay.

If you feel like looking around we can let you know about things to do in the area. Birdwatching is a favourite, especially when our resident osprey pair are nesting.

Depending on the tide, fishing is enjoyed from the rocks out the front, from the beach or at the boat ramp.

We have a couple of kayaks. From time to time there could be a few of our crew sharing the use of them with guests.

A personal chef can be pre-arranged (with pricing according to guest requirements) should this option be required. We can arrange for staff to be available to deal with quotes and assist with menu and service options.
