This is an ideal space for a single person or couple that wants an extra workspace or bedroom for guests..The wi-fi speed is 100 mbps download, 10 mbps upload. It can also accommodate a family, 2 couples, 2 single travel companions or a single couple who wants plenty of room and privacy. Best for children 10 and older, this is not a toddler proof apartment. The apartment has 2 floors with 2 sets of steep, narrow stairs.

This 3rd story space is strictly floor level and boasts a king size bed. Memory foam pad makes it a comfy nook indeed! Woven clothes from Bolivia, Costa Rica and the Philippines hang on the walls. Other imports include items and art from Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Ecuador, Australia and India. These things have all been collected by our family and friends on their travels.

Originally, this space was inaccessible (an attic), We opened it up to create a cozy, private bedroom for our daughter. Recently, it's been fun to think of it as a multi-cultural dream space.

In contrast to the warm tones of the loft, the Queen Room has cool, misty mint colors that invoke chillax! This upstairs bedroom has a Queen size memory foam mattress, has it's own private sitting room and outside deck with a view!

Marshall is an eclectic little river town that has a thriving art and music culture. There is white water rafting, hiking, horseback riding and hot springs within a short distance. Asheville is a mere 25 minutes drive up the beautiful scenic river road.

This house was in decline when we bought it 29 years ago. We have resurrected the splendor of the structure; reclaiming original trim wood and flooring that was fashioned with virgin timber from this region in the Blue Ridge mountains. Tom has done most of the renovation himself, incorporating his artistic flair and unusual floor plan designs.

Our neighborhood is safe, quiet and friendly! It's surprisingly private to be just a few minutes walk to our little town.
The road to the house is a traditional steep, winding and narrow mountain street and has been likened to Old World Europe. Please follow directions on your reservation. It is best to arrive before dark if possible.

Victoria enjoys creating adornment in the form of jewelry, growing flowers, experiencing new people ,places, cultures, frequenting farmer's markets, hearing local musicians, hiking .

Tom is a solar electrician and is responsible for the renovation of this house. He is also an author and artist. He is happiest working on creative projects.

After our children were grown, we went on a caretaking adventure, traveling and working, internationally for 4 years. When we returned home in 2011, we decided to turn our house into a vacation rental to provide a place for fellow travelers to visit and experience our part of the world we love so much. We have incorporated weavings, art and momentos of our time in other parts of the world to add an international, eclectic flair. We love to share this with others.
