Our luxury Edwardian home is in the heart of Seaview village, three minutes from the beach and shops. With 4 double bedrooms & foldaway beds, it sleeps 8 normally and 10 comfortably.

With lots of living space, big sun terrace - with new heaters & uplighters - & 3 bathrooms, it adds up to a carefree, luxurious holiday.

We do accept midweek breaks (4 sometimes 3 night minimum depending on the time of year).

NB:dogs are allowed on a case by case basis,agreed in advance for a one off fee of £40

Carisbrooke is an Edwardian home in a quiet, secure cul de sac, which is fully-fitted as a modern convenient home.

It is our family seaside home where we have brought up the children; we use it regularly ourselves and have worked hard to make it a home that can be easily enjoyed by all who stay here.

It has a beautiful, sunlit kitchen/dining area which can seat 12 inside and sun terrace outside which has brand new heaters,additional seating with cushions and attractive lighting for those cool summer evenings and seating for 10.

Importantly, it also has 2 drawing rooms with separate TVs/DVDs for families who do not always wish to be together.There is now access to Netflix/Amazon and major playback services.

An upright, tuned high quality piano has just been acquired.

And...3 bathrooms, all with power showers, to service the 4 upstairs double bedrooms (2 twins and 2 doubles + 2 foldaway beds according to need).

So, Carisbrooke sleeps 8 with options for 2 others (probably children) in adult foldaway beds.

The Master bedroom has en suite bathroom and excellent views down the Solent. On Saturday evenings you can see the great liners as they surge westwards towards their next port of call.

Seaview is the quintessential English seaside village. We are set in a cul de sac within 3 minutes walk of the shops - which include a coffee shop. Another minute finds you on the beach as you walk past the celebrated Seaview Hotel.

In Ryde Road -just 50 metres away is The Isle of Wight Sports Club which offers tennis and badminton.

On the Esplanade is The Old Fort pub for the grown-ups, whilst the children have a choice of beaches - the Duver on the west side of the village - good for wind and kite surfing, then Quay Rocks (great for crabbing!), Seagrove Bay - now sandy again, and the wonderful Priory Bay just a couple of minutes walk beyond Seagrove. Lovely spot for a picnic or even a barbecue. The tide goes out far enough to allow exploration out into the Bay itself.

Swimming is safe from all beaches in Seaview.

If you enjoy sailing watch the Seaview Mermaid fleet race round the marks through the Summer and the remarkable wooden (One Design) dinghies - more than a hundred of them moored off the Yacht Club.

If you wander down the Duver you come to Puckpool Park with its own tennis courts, cafe and crazy golf. nearby is the Seaview Wildlife Encounter: meerkats, wallabies and lots of other animals to enjoy close-up.

There is go-karting up by Tesco and the Westridge Golf Centre.
Restauarnts: the Seaview Hotel does an extensive pub menu all day, as well as high class fine dining. The Old Fort too has a good bar menu - lots of fish to choose from among a wide range of dishes.

There is a café that does good pizzas, a deli for sandwiches and ice cream, a coffee shop (Lily's) and a cellar bistro with food and live music (The Seaview Bistro).

Beyond this is St Helen's Green which has 2 small restaurants Dan's Kitchen and Ganders on opposite sides.

Travel on to Bembridge and you can buy fresh fish and eat lobster/crab at the Best Dressed Crab on a pontoon in the harbour, enjoy the wide range of shops, stop by The Pilot Boat Inn.

Over near the old town of Brading you can visit the Roman Villa there. If your taste is more for a later period, try Osborne House, Queen Victoria's favorite home, now refurbished.

Golf your thing? There is a nine hole course with excellent covered driving range at Westridge, right near the huge Tesco Extra & less than 10 minutes drive away.

There is a good 9 hole course in Ryde, good 18 hole course in Sandown and a beautiful 9 holer at Osborne House running through the gardens with red squirrels as spectators!

Jonathan and I have lived in Putney for 20 years and our family are now grown up. We have a second home on the Isle of Wight which we have owned for over 20 years and also rent out: worth checking out.

Putney is a great jumping off point for airports and the West End; parking is easy and it has been great for the children's schooling. Shopping is good;restaurants and pubs are good value and varied;there are good local theatres as well.

We enjoy tennis, skiing, sailing and golf. I play bridge and row regularly on the Thames. We laugh a lot - we should:our eldest son Max is a professional writer, comedian and presenter.

Jonathan is a qualified Tour Guide and is available for London walking tours and talks around London: so we have a vast knowledge of the history and heritage of Britain. Please talk to us if you wish to use this service.

We try to keep our home as informal and friendly as we can. For instance, if we can, we will give you a lift up to the station.

We have traveled extensively around the world,including South America, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India most recently. Also, the United States, South Africa, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. Jonathan's business took him all around Africa too.

We are unlikely to be present or nearby during your stay; we do have a Housekeeper who can run through how to work apparatus (e.g.hot water) and ensure that you are settled in OK and to ensure all is in order on your day of departure.

There is a key safe by the back door so you can get in on arrival.We will supply the current code.

PLEASE NOTE YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS - unless you make a specific request which will incur an additional charge: these towels are for domestic not beach use.
