The Wanderlust Lodge is an bungalow-like sunroom that is an additional build to the main house. The spacious room has 3 wooden twin-over-full bunkbeds and 2 sofas. While in the lodge, you are transformed back to nostalgic memories of summer camp.

It lodge is on the eastside located 3 miles from UT campus and 4 miles from downtown. It has a fully stocked kitchen, shared social areas, a cocktail patio bar area, free street parking, musical instruments, a foosball table, and lots of boardgames.

• You are reserving one of the beds in the Wanderlust Lodge Hostel. The Wanderlust Lodge is a spacious, uniquely designed, 6-bed co-ed dormitory-style sunroom with an additional sofa bed. During the duration of your stay, there will be other travelers / backpackers staying in this spacious lodge with musical instruments.

• The idea of this extraordinary house is to create a community of young travelers who are new to Austin, coming together and building new connections and the possibility of forming new friendships. Typically everyone is in their 20s and 30s.

• A hostel is a low-budget accommodation shared among travelers. When a guest books a stay in a hostel, he or she books a bed for the night, not a room. The guest's bed is in a shared room with other travelers.

• Even more importantly, at the Wanderlust Lodge you're not on your own. Travel stories are shared, as is the dinner table. It’s a place where you’ll make friends and hang out with other international trotters alike by the patio bar, backyard, common room, or perhaps cook dinner in the fully-equipped kitchen (perfect to keep costs down).

• Our mission for this whimsical house is to provide a way for young travelers / backpackers with the intrepid soul to meet new people, socialize, play board games, bring forth the opportunity for you to find a buddy to try out different restaurants, carpool to explore the city, or bar hop in a small group! It's kind of like a hostel with a twist, with a more intimate feeling for you to get to know one another.

• Keyless touch-pad smartlock for 24/7 self check-ins.

• LG 40 watts of Bluetooth wireless audio system

• 63" Samsung TV with Roku. Includes unlimited access to streaming Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, HBO Max, CrunchyRoll, DirecTV Premier, ESPN+, Sling TV, StanTV, and Viki Rakuten.

• Free street parking (Please DO NOT parking under roof covering unless you are unloading baggage or groceries).

• Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, variety of teas, toaster, kettle, Crockpot, and a rice cooker.

• Meticulously and gorgeously designed themed rooms from boho-chic, coastal, to farmhouse styles.

• Musical Instruments for the creative spirited in live music capital of the world. Electronic keyboard piano and acoustic guitar.

• Bathrooms include essential toiletries and each room has neatly folded plush cotton towels.

• Kitchen is decorated with whimsical, colorful, LED ambient lights that makes the heart of the house look like a magical fairy-tale land from Avatar.

• Stack of board games for you choose from for interactive group ice breaker and fun activities.

• 6 Lockers to store away your bags / valuables and provides guests some peace of mind. Please bring your own lock or purchase a combination lock for $5 from me.

• FREE bicycle rental to ride into downtown, bike lock and helmet included Bicycles rentals are released after paying a $100 refundable deposit per bike, in case if the bike gets stolen, damaged, rusted (guests should wipe down the bike after riding in rain to prevent rust), paint chip, blowout tires / tubes that need to be replaced. A small portion of the deposit may be deducted for rental over 2 weeks to purchase chain lubes and monthly bike maintenance.

The neighborhood is in a residential area on the east side 10 minutes from University of Texas campus and 11 minutes from downtown. There are lots of up and coming restaurants from epicenter of downtown that slowly migrating towards the east side area. There are also a couple neighborhood bars that are hidden gems with live local musicians playing nightly.

These are my personal favorite local hidden gems!

• LOCAL BARS: The Sahara Lounge, Skylark Lounge, Butterfly Bar, Kitty Cohen's, Whistler's

• BREWERIES: Southern Height Brewery, Moontowner Cider, Oddwood Ales, Blue Owl, Hops and Grain, Friends & Allies.

• CASUAL DINE-IN'S: The Buzzmill, Via 313 Pizza, The Front Page, Salty Sow, Sour Duck Market, Hi Hat Public House

Your host (me, Lucy) is honored to have this opportunity to host you while you are visiting Austin! My permanent residence is down the street, but I do I come to the house couple times a week to help out with cleaning, prep the rooms for new guests, toss out the trash, and work on my computer. If you need anything, I'm just one text away. I do have my own designated room in the house that I sometimes rent out.
