Spruce Cabin is one of five cabins that is part of our non-profit organization, Hawk Circle, dedicated to connecting people to the magic of nature. Many guests come to retreat from the world, and discover healing and inspiration while wandering through our forest. Spruce Cabin has two twin beds and 4 bunk beds - perfect for a family. (Not ideal for all adults.) Cabin is newly renovated with a front porch for relaxing while sipping your mug of herbal tea or coffee. Beds are made with cozy comforters and organic cotton sheets and include extra blankets for chilly nights. Fresh towels included.

Our cabins do not have bathrooms. Bathrooms and outdoor showers, including changing rooms, are located in Eagle House, just a few short steps away from the cabins. Eagle House is our brand new retreat house built with a conscious commitment to creating a beautiful, sustainable space. Homemade breakfasts are served in the main room of Eagle House where you can sit back and relax while enjoying spectacular views of the valley.

We are just three miles from the quaint village of Cherry Valley where there are a few shops and a natural food market. Just a 15 minute idyllic drive over the hill is the charming and historic village of Cooperstown known for its beautiful lake, Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, Farmer's Museum and Glimmerglass Theater. In the other direction, is a short drive to Sharon Springs, an old spa town and now home to the infamous Beekman farm and original store.

Hi! My name is Trista. My husband, Ricardo and our son, Javier live here at Hawk Circle year round. We started Hawk Circle as a wilderness summer camp for children 30 years ago. After renovating our cabins and building a new retreat house, Eagle House, we transformed our place into a forest sanctuary for guests to rest, heal and be inspired by the beauty of nature. When not hosting guests, I guide small group tours to sacred sites in places such as Ireland, Scotland, France and Egypt. It has been my passion to help others to heal and to live creative, passionate lives. After my first trip to Egypt, I returned with a desire to learn all that I could regarding Sacred Oils and aromatherapy. I now train others in this ancient Egyptian art of working with oils, as well as offer sacred oil alchemy sessions to guests. My oils, along with other products can be purchased through our small, on site store, The Forest Perfumery & Herbarium. I am an avid gardener and herbalist and enjoy wandering our trails and tending to our pets.

Ricardo is also passionate about tending to our land and growing food. He's been a wilderness skills and survival instructor for over 30 years, with a focus on connecting children to the magic of nature. He is currently working on a monthly subscription box that offers children a variety of nature activities delivered to their door. Ricardo is also a timber framer. He has built many of the beautiful buildings here, and others have been built by students who come here to learn from him.
