Visit with no expectations and be delighted. Truly humble, sprawling 1880’s farmhouse serving railroad-era Catskills mountaintop resort. Countless art, music, theater and creative events have transpired here. On the Schoharie Creek in protected NYC watershed, your backyard is West Kill Mountain. The air is pure; deer, black bear, foxes, bald eagles roam. Nature reigns. Accessible by car/bus. 15 minutes to Hunter/Windham ski. No expectations, ok?

Simple, rustic, humble. ALSO spooky, creepy, haunted, dark, crooked, scary, etc. You are strongly encouraged to look elsewhere - UNLESS you REALLY want to stay in a scary, old, creaky, haunted farmhouse in the proverbial sticks.

The space is basically a simple room inside of a massive farmhouse, with a space heater (NOT CENTRAL HEAT - VERY COLD IN WINTER). You have your own private bedroom, double bed, a nightstand and a place for personal items. Shared full bathroom with indoor shower/bathtub. Large communal kitchen. Outdoor shower (seasonal), private creek access with swimming hole and many private acres of meadows and forest to explore.

Lexington Arts + Science is the epicenter of an avante-garde art mecca which will anchor the revitalization of our Catskills mountaintop hamlet of Lexington as a creative hub.

Lexington Arts + Science (LexArtSci) consists of approximately ten buildings of wide variety of uses and sizes spread across a 30+ acre campus, bounded on one side by the Schoharie Creek, on the other by Packsaddle Mountain, and bisected by New York State Route 42.

Although it is in the center of the hamlet of Lexington, in a commercial district, LexArtSci feels very wild – worlds distant from NYC (2.5 hours), Albany (1.5 hours), Hudson and Catskill (45 minutes). Just seven miles from three premier ski resorts (Hunter, Windham and Bellayre), the Towns of Windham, Hunter and Prattsville and thirty minutes to Woodstock, the hamlet has largely been protected from modern development patterns and is a treasure in and of itself.

We know you will enjoy the quietude, the community, the picture-postcard views, the wildlife, the pure air, the solace and connection that we have built upon. It is a truly magical place if you open to it.
