Casita Colorado is a new construction that has just been completed as of April, 2014. The mission of this house was to build a classy, sytlish, modern house with the feelings of old architecture from reclaimed materials. Uniquely Colorado!!

Less than an hours drive from Denver and a mere 40 minutes from Boulder Casita Colorado is our newest addition to Casa Colorado B&B. The Casita is a full-time vacation rental that will be sure to bring the unique elements of Colorado to your custom vacation. The house is a new construction that we built using primarily reclaimed materials. We started with beams from the late 1800's and timber framed the entire structure. We used reclaimed windows, doors, granite counters, cabinets, flooring, stairs, and many unique architectural pieces that we found from Resource in boulder and from Craigslist. The house will certainly bring the Colorado flavor to your vacation. With amazing divide views from the deck and the enclosed onyx shower, you will be certain to feel the beauty of the continental divide wherever you are in the house.
There is an outdoor hot tub, outdoor kitchen, steam shower in the master bathroom, surround sound with a 55 in flatscreen in the living room, speakers located throughout the house, a beautiful Viking Range, dishwasher, solar water system, in floor radiant heat, granite counters, wood, tile and flagstone floors, and finished out with some modern and very comfortable furnishings. The house is available year round and is located just 15 minutes from Eldora Mountain Resort. Eldora is a small, local feeling resort with plenty of great skiing terrain. 4 Wheel drive or awd is mandatory during the winter months to access the home safely. We are also within 30 minutes of river rafting or 10 minutes to some great fly fishing holes. Please check out our website at Casa-Colorado.com for more info and photos!! The Casita is located on a hill which provides some great sledding in the winter and it also borders national forest, so snow shoeing, hiking, or cross-country skiing is right out the back door!!

Scott is a percussionist who spent the last 10 years touring Nationally with a band called the Motet. When not touring, he has been custom building our home, investigating ways to recycle materials, use alternative energy sources, and add some artistic flair. Also a potter and quite a homemaker, leaving the band provided the opportunity he had desired through those grueling years on the road - to stay at home. Now playing with a local Brazilian band called Sambadende, Scott is looking forward to continuing the evolution of our home, now Casa Colorado.

For Morgan, Casa Colorado represents the same possibility to stay home and dig into life passions and projects. As one of the Directors of the Nederland Sustainability Project, she has been working within the community to encourage local food production through high altitude gardening systems. A gardener and a chef, Morgan is excited to cook and bake for all of the guests, sharing the process from soil to plate with new flavors and creations made at home.

We also share our home with three malamute mix dogs: Che, Frida, and Dulce Vida. They are extremely sweet and love attention from people of any size, especially babies! We keep them busy outside and they love to be put on the harness to pull, training to be excellent ski joring companions!
