On our side of the highway: some of our fav's
Shanghai looks like a "hole in the wall" sitting on the service road, but it has great food, generous portions for cheap prices! They make pizza, Chinese, curry, pasta and more. Free delivery. Menu available on facebook.
Rastaquitos (located two streets over on Armadillo). Great for evening/late night tacos made to order right in front of you for cheap prices! Can eat there or take to go.
El Diez Pizza: Just a couple of blocks away, outdoor seating, pizza, lasagne, etc. Delivery option available too! Menu available on Facebook
Fonda Americana: One of the very few air conditioned restaurants in Puerto Morelos, beach side and colonia side included.
El Picudo: fish/seafood
Take out BBQ chicken: corner of Timon & Vallarta

There are buses that go there; however you have to transfer buses in Playa Del Carmen and know when to get off the bus. If you can speak a little Spanish you will be able to ask the driver to tell you when to get off. There is a sign on the highway that shows you the entrance.

This area has become commercialized and therefore they will charge you a small fee to enter the water where most turtles hang out. However, if you walk further down the beach there is a wonderful reef system you can follow along and see all kinds of sea life including turtles. The beach is very picturesque as well with many palm trees along the sand for those who are seeking shade.
