Umi Sushi is just good sushi. It's not super fancy, but it has all the classics. It is located on the outskirt of downtown Hendersonville, and a great option for dine-in or carry-out. They have great lunch deals for 2 or 3 rolls + soup/salad around $12!

If you’re with a group, or just downtown, Never Blue is always a fun option. It’s fusion American food, in the center of downtown Hendersonville, and the food is Tapas-style, meaning that the dishes are meant to be shared, and brought out as they’re ready.

If you go, we highly recommend the Beef Bulgogi entree, and the Duck Fat Fries app. The restaurant has delicious, local food, and is great for any meal and/or cocktails. They have an extensive bar, and rooftop seating. If you only get to visit one restaurant downtown Hendersonville, this is the one we recommend as it is family-friendly and wheelchair accessible, so a great option for all.

PS - We're not dessert people when eating out... except here. The best $8 you will spend the whole night is on their chocolate caramel dessert. Just order one to share - it's very rich, and worth every single bite.

The best southern food around. Hendough started as a donut shop, and expanded to a lunch menu with fried chicken sandwiches and sides - and we’re all glad they did! You won’t be disappointed with this one whether you go for breakfast or lunch.

Bear Wallow is a moderate hike (about 30 minutes up) with almost 360 degree views. It's a great spot to bring a blanket, food/drinks, a good book, or a ball to throw. The drive to the hike is lined with beautiful, huge homes which are fun to look at.

If you’re looking for a great view up the parkway, this is our favorite option. It’s a pretty rocky 20 minute hike, but not very steep and is suitable for families with kids and those who are older. Once you're on the parkway, Black Balsam is about 45 minutes up. It's a great spot for a picnic (weather-permitting), and has 360 views. Be sure to pack a blanket, food/drinks, and/or a ball to throw!

Local Breweries & Wine
This local vineyard is just a few doors up the road, and opened in July 2020. The wine is our favorite in the area, and the mountain views are stunning. Rain or shine, it has great seating to soak in the scenery, and a covered area to enjoy it on a rainy day too. They don’t allow anyone under 21 (including infants) so keep that in mind, if you plan on going. Be sure to sample the rose - it’s dry and unlike any we’d tried before!

They don’t allow anyone under 21 (including infants) so keep that in mind, if you plan on going. Be sure to sample the rose - it’s dry and unlike any we’d tried before!

Point Lookout has nearly 360 degree mountain views. We've got to be honest - the wine isn't our absolute favorite, but the views make up for it. It's located just 10 minutes up the road and definitely worth the stop.
