The Disney Land of breweries only minutes from the cabin. Very impressive facility - grab a beer and go on the self-guided tour. Go early, late, or during off hours to try to avoid the crowds. It's a very busy place on the weekends.

Amazing views and good wine. Not too far from the cabin south. Often have rotating food trucks - but call ahead if you're banking on them. Showed up before only to find out the food truck canceled.

Moderately easy (for the area!) hike of about 1.8 miles round trip to about 4400' that's in close proximity to the cabin. From the parking area, you'll climb about 500 feet. Offers 270 degree view of the area. We often take a picnic up there and enjoy the view for a while. The summit also double as a pasture so you'll likely see cows at the top!

Less than a mile one way not a bad hike if you want to drive on the Blue Ridge parkway for a while. If you're brave, you can jump in the water. But beware it's cold, about 50 degrees year-round!

You're looking at about an hour and a half drive from the cabin to get here, but this is the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi River - 6684'. A short hike to the summit at the top and there's a gift shop there as well. Recommend going to Craggy Pinnacle Trail on the way to this one if you're going that direction on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Try the ribs with Blueberry Chipotle sauce, the Hogzilla, or the smoked turkey sandwich with candied bacon. My favorite sides are the corn pudding and jalapeno cheese grits. Yum! This location also house a brewery that they opened in early 2019.
