It's quick to get on the Parkway South from the house: Take I-240 west to I-26 east. Take exit 33 for the Outlets and follow 191-South to the North Carolina Arboretum. Follow signs to the Blue Ridge Parkway south for lovely views, stopping at Pisgah Inn for lunch and/or Graveyard Fields for a summer dip in cool waterfalls.
