Yalikavak is half an hour from our villa in Torba. It is worth taking the time to visit. There is an old marina on one side and the new Palmarina on the other. I recommend to visit both sides.

Bitez is one of the locals favorite place to visit. It is a bit tricky to get to the beach, but offers a unique relaxing atmosphere.
It is about an hour of of Bodrum and the road is winding at the end, but it is worth the trip. You go to the end of the road and when the road ends turn right. Go all the way to a parking lot. You can eat fresh organic food grown right in their garden. Great family restaurant with good service.

Beaches
Turkbuku is very popular with famous people. Most of the time I am there, I am always seeing one or two. They have great restaurants right by the beach. You can swim and sunbathe all they long. Most places have a dollar amount that you have to spend. Could be expensive. (I never tried).
You can also use the public beach and local coffee shops run by the local authorities. The menu and prices are same in every location. Basic food great Turkish tea. The best.

This beach is the 2nd closest one to Torba. It is about 8km away from the Torba intersection. There is a great coffee shop that serves basic food at great prices. The beach is large and beautiful.

What I like about this place is that they have tons of little souvenir stores. All the stuff is made by the local woman. There is a wonderful bakery that when you are in there, you want to buy everything. Tons of seafood restaurants by the water waiting to cook fresh fish. There is also a coffee shop where you can have food at reasonable price. They have discovered a historic site on the little island close by but it is closed to public. There is a wall in the sea that is visible to the eye from the top. With a $10 food purchase per person, they would let you use their lounge chairs at the beach. Great waters for swimming.

Torba marina and the beach are walking distance to the house. There are many restaurants, hotels and cafes along the beach. You could spend a day by buying some food at the restaurants and they will let you use their lounge chairs at the beach. Sometimes you get to see a very famous yacht in Bodrum waters in different locations. For people who like to take walks, there is a walkway right beside the sea between the restaurants and the beach. Must go early and take hats to protect yourself from the sun. Bodrum waters are great for swimming any time of the day

You could spend a day by buying some food at the restaurants and they will let you use their lounge chairs at the beach. Sometimes you get to see a very famous yacht in Bodrum waters in different locations. For people who like to take walks, there is a walkway right beside the sea between the restaurants and the beach. Must go early and take hats to protect yourself from the sun. Bodrum waters are great for swimming any time of the day

Visitors must take a daily boat tour at least once.
There are many locations that you can take a daily boat tour. Tickets are sold everywhere by the marinas. You can check the boat you want to go in ahead of time. The trip is from 11 am to 5 or 6 pm. You get lunch and afternoon tea with cookies plus watermelon included in the price. I take the same kinds of tours in Mexico and it is only 3 hrs and you pay 3 times more. It is a fun activity for the whole family.

I always tell everyone, do not stick out of the crowd. Bodrum's population is only 130,000 but every summer it goes over 2,000,000. It is a popular place by local and foreign tourist. There are tourist from all over the world. Some people go wild in Bodrum.
It is a tradition to bargain. Do not be afraid to bargain with local vendors. You may not be able to do that with stores.
When you are in a seafood restaurant, ask the price before yo order. Do not order till you know the price.
Make little vendors happy. Not the big store owners.
