The first link shows one in Banner Elk which is where we go for snow skiing. It is an hours drive from the cabin. Also in Asheville there is the Biltmore which is a great place to visit. There is an entrance fee to get in. Another great place to visit that doesn't charge admission is the Grove Park Inn. Other points of interest driving the Blue Ridge Parkway is the Moses H Cone Memorial Park near Blowing Rock as well as Grandfather’s Mountain and Linville Falls that offers beautiful views especially of the fall leaves and offers great hiking.

Hiking - there are numerous places to hike. Mitchell Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and many trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
