This is one of the oldest eateries on Haywood Rd. If you love osters, this is the place. They even make an Oyster Stout.

Truly beautiful easy hike. Wide gravel road up a hill to a bald that has almost 360 view. Layer after layer of the Great Smoky mountains. Once at the top you will see what looks like a big house. It's actually a nature center. Go up, hang out on the deck and soak up the views. After, go to the back left-side of the house and go down a different side than you came up. On the way you will see a preserved, original settlers cabin. If you decide to do this hike, let us know and we will try to print off a map for you and leave it in the suite.
Good all year around. Loop. 3.8 miles roundtrip. 1 hour drive time each way.

Hemphill Road
Hemphill RoadTruly beautiful easy hike. Wide gravel road up a hill to a bald that has almost 360 view. Layer after layer of the Great Smoky mountains. Once at the top you will see what looks like a big house. It's actually a nature center. Go up, hang out on the deck and soak up the views. After, go to the back left-side of the house and go down a different side than you came up. On the way you will see a preserved, original settlers cabin. If you decide to do this hike, let us know and we will try to print off a map for you and leave it in the suite.
Good all year around. Loop. 3.8 miles roundtrip. 1 hour drive time each way.

The real reason to go, if you are not staying there, are the mountains. All the restaurants have breathtaking views.
If you don't want a full sit-down meal, get some drinks and snacks on the Cocktail Sunset Terrace and watch the sun fade down behind Pisgah.
There is also an excellent underground Spa onsite.
