Book transportation in advance!

Valle de Guadalupe is a very rural area with beautiful views and amazing wine, however getting around would be a little complicated if you don't have your own vehicle. We suggest booking your transportation in advance, since there is no public transportation available and usually transport will be coming from Ensenada (45 min away). There are many certified and trusted taxi drivers and tour operators, if you need help finding one please let us know! Please note that most of the roads in the area are dirt roads and that Google maps sometimes isn't very accurate on the smaller side roads.

Mind the locals!

The community of Valle de Guadalupe started making wine after the migration of a religiously-persecuted Russian community in the early 1900s. Since then, this community has grown to be the main wine region in Mexico with 90% of the market. Due to lack of regulations and estranged local policies, Valle de Guadalupe went from having 72 wineries and restaurants in the 2000s to now having 250+ wineries, restaurants, lodging and everything in between! This exponential growth has created tensions in the community due to lack of water, infrastructure and resources.
