An outdoor amphitheater just 5 minutes from my house in Ruby Hill park! This venue hosts up to 50 free concerts per year in the summer and has seen some pretty big names recently including Melissa Etheridge, DeVotchKa and John Legend. Bring food for a picnic or sample some of the local food trucks inside the venue. (Be sure to read the park rules before packing your bags.) Ruby Hill park is also home to a mountain bike course and Denver’s best sledding hill in the winter!

A beautiful place to hike! The lake at the base of the glacier is a great spot for a picnic. The hike to the lake is about 30 minutes or so, but very rocky, so you’ll want to wear good shoes.

The Pike’s Peak Cog railway has been running up the mountain since the 1890’s and was recently renovated in 2020. The new trains will take you up to the summit of this 14,000 foot mountain where you can see the view from above the clouds! The visitor’s center at the top also has coffee, donuts and a gift shop. Definitely an incredible experience!
