Katlyn's Guide: How to Have the Best Weekend in the Mountains
My favorite hikes
The three waterfall loop is a great short hike to see three awesome waterfalls. I usually go to to hooker falls and then over the bridge to triple and high falls. Luckily my house is only 5 miles from Hooker Falls Access parking so you can easily go early or later in the eveninng. The weekends get VERY bust so plan to go early or late.

Nearby Looking Glass rock is super popular (and awesome!), but John Rock is a less popular option that I love. You park at the fish hatchery and can hike up John Rock and overlook looking glass rock. It's a longer hike so pack extra water and a snack.

City/town information
My house is halfway between Brevard and Hendersonville NC so it's easy to get to either. I LOVE Brevard. First it is an adorable mountain town, but unlike most small towns it has plenty to do - breweries, shops, restaurants, music, and more. The perfect place to go before or after a hike or bike ride.

First it is an adorable mountain town, but unlike most small towns it has plenty to do - breweries, shops, restaurants, music, and more. The perfect place to go before or after a hike or bike ride.

Brevard is my first love, but Hendersonville has more amenities like grocery stores (my favorite and the closest is fresh market) and if you are looking for something to do later in the evening, more options are available in Hendersonville.

It's like a mini farm and a brewery combined.Inn the spring and summer you can order a beer, stroll through the garden, and pick a bouquet of you own flowers. Theres lots of cute farm animals too. Call ahead - they may have a food truck and they usually have some great ones when they do.

It is HUGE with a full restaurant, museum, and outdoor area with seasonal concerts and outdoor fire-pits and games. In the summer you can walk down to the river and visit the riverside tap room.

Rainy Day Ideas
Need a rainy day activity? This is my go-to. You can pick from any of their board games, grab a drink, and enjoy an afternoon. My favorite game at the moment is "sushi roll" if you want a recommendation. the staff is awesome and will totally help you pick your new favorite game.

Great rainny day spot. It's right on main street so you can go to a restaurant and pop by the pinball museum. For about $10 you can play all the vintage pinball games. It's actually cooler than it seems.

Mountain Bike Trails
Everyone loves this mountain bike trail, and for good reason. It's a nice fun, flowy downhill. GO early or late as the parking lot gets crazy busy on the weekends.

You start at Fawn Lake Parking and tun right to pride Reasonover Creek trail which has some beautiful creek crossings and leads to Lake Julia, a gorgeous lake - great for swimming in the summer. :) On the way back too the parking lot hit Air Strip trail - an old airstrip with great mountain views.

An asheville favorite White Duck Taco now has a location in hendersonville. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have lots of deliciously funky tacos, but my favorite is the Tika Masala taco.
