Just a quick 20 minute drive through beautiful Balsam mountains will land you in Waynesville where there are an abundance of local artisan shops, restaurants and other really cool things to see and do. Beach Mountain Diner serves up the BEST breakfasts and lunches. Go early because there's usually a wait after 9am! You won't regret it!

Step off the railroad cart and go on into Boots for a juicy steak! Great for a fancy date night or Anniversary/celebratory dinner. High end. Suited for quiet evenings, not recommended for young children.

We drive up from South Carolina quite often to stay i the cabin and no matter how short our trip may be, we hit Haywood Smokehouse. You've GOT to try their Burnt End Baked Beans!!! Sweet Tea is some of the best around! So is the service! Such a great staff! Great for kids.

Five minutes from the house, you can see the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad dropping off passengers to sightsee around the area. There are public bathrooms, lots of shops, chocolate shops, great steak houses, ice cream shops and local artists selling their creations. A little something for all!
