The low-hanging, colorful lights make this spot fun! I love the cocktail with the sparkler - it's an experience to share!

The beer here is good and strong, and the permanent food truck (has weird hours, though) is pretty good. I usually start here first when doing the South Slope brewery crawl.

The beer here is lighter than Burial, but not as tart as the Funkatorium's options. I like coming here to sober up after Burial whilst playing giant jenga or ping pong. There's usually a food truck parked outside.

The locals don't go to, "The Mansion" (aka the tasting room) - there's the original bar for Green Man down the street that is cozier and has a food truck.

Even though Wicked Weed sold out to big name beer, you'll need to stop at the Funkatorium and try a brewery making sours! You don't get that very often anywhere else.

I hate that I love this place. The beers are always consistent and the fried chicken sandwich with kimchi is delicious. CURSE YOU WICKED WEED FOR SELLING OUT! You can put yourself on the waiting list for a table, sit at the community table, or tromp downstairs (I do this every time) and find a seat yourself because it's usually the quicker option and they have the full menu available still.

This rooftop bar has the best view of the sunset. It is a seat yourself type bar, which means it can be pretty packed during peak sunset time, but it is worth elbowing some people out of the way to see the sun fall behind the mountain range.

I didn't know how to properly label this one. Salvage station is a restaurant, bar, river tubing stop, and music venue all in one. The drinks are good, the food is good, and the outdoor space is awesome. No dogs allowed, though; they're pretty strict on that rule.

Pretty cool spot. You don't tip the bartenders, the company has some type of stock option they give their employees instead of making patrons tip. Kinda weird, but whatever works. You can walk here from my house. They have a food truck. They close at 8PM. I am all-around kinda "meh" about this place, if you can't already tell, but some people love it. You can pretty much get their beer all over town, though, so if you don't want to make a pit stop here, you can just order it somewhere else.

Located on the rooftop of the AC Marriott in downtown Asheville, this is one of the newer rooftop scenes to open up in Asheville. You will need to take the hotel elevator up to the bar. They have small plates if you are hungry. They do not take reservations. They can get pretty busy, and they'll make you wait around awkwardly until they below capacity. The servers have sections, so you may or may not have to flag yours down to order a drink. I have a penchant for rooftop bars, and I go to them regardless of how difficult it is to get a drink. Just a warning.

Seriously, the wait for brunch during busy season(s) in Asheville is INSANE. But everyone will recommend you try this place.

Very much a comfort food place. But, I love the brunch burger. They also have live music pretty regularly. UPDATE: there is no longer a brunch burger because they don't serve the jam they used for it anymore RIP.

An East Asheville hidden gem! If you are hungry and want consistently good food, but are on a budget, this is the place for you! There's a huge outdoor space with a sand volleyball court, corn hole boards, arcade games, and a creek (hence the name) that kids are welcome to play in.

I love the hummus! I can't pronounce most of the wines, so I usually just pick the name that stands out the most and try that one. They have the same specials every night, and the lamb rack is the best. I think I'm a man of habit because I always get it when we go.

Dim Sum is Korean tapas. I see a lot of confused patrons when we go here. Just order several things that look interesting and share the food amongst your party. You can order more as you go, you don't have to do it in one fell swoop. The cocktails are really good, but they are expensive. I never sit outside, though, because the fire engines in town use Patton as their main route; seriously, it is so annoying trying to be downtown and they blare their sirens and deafen you for a few moments.
Reservations can be made, but the bar is very long if you just feel like walking in.

It's the Biltmore House. I don't know what to write other than there are far fewer people in the house in the morning than in the evening. If you don't mind missing out on some of the lighting, I would go in the morning when you aren't shuffled en masse with the other thousand people in the house.

You can get to this park pretty easily from my house, as the green way it is connected to is only two blocks away. It is a great route to run.
