People come from all over the country to experience the Biltmore Estate. While it is about an hour from the cabin, have a look at their website and see if you might want to make the trip. It is an enormous estate with guided and unguided tours as well as restaurants, biking trails, and events.
Acres of gardens, restaurants, a dairy farm, and a gorgeous house to tour means you can’t see the whole place in a day, but it’s worth a try.

The grandest palace in the Americas. Beautiful Museum is a delicious way to participate in the USA history. Winery, restaurants, gardens and hotel are part of the estate.
Yes, it IS a tourist attraction, and yes, it is pricey, and yes, it takes a day or two to visit. BUT - after 40 years living in Asheville, I still have a seasonal pass. If you are only here for a day or two - you don't have time for this. Add an extra day - the gardens are amazing, the art collection is as fine as any, anywhere. And George Vanderbilt and his family have shaped our region, to understand a part of who is Asheville....visit.

One of the most expensive attractions. A must see that takes at least half a day. We love the special exhibits. The next special attraction is the Christmas display. Awesome.

Visit Biltmore, America's Largest Home, built by George Vanderbilt. Explore the 8000-acre estate in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. Hailed as the largest home in the USA, it defies description. You simply have to take a tour to really experience it. Wonderful for art, culture and history buffs.

Opulence beyond words. Pricey unless you purchase tickets on-line a few weeks before your arrival, but worth the cost of full-fare.
