the PINK LAKES Hidden away on the tip of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is a magical place full of colour. These stunning cotton-candy pink lakes filled with salt are called Las Coloradas. ... Nearby, a series of brightly colored pink lakes cover the landscape on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico.

If it hasn't recently rained, you can take the sand track to Las Coloradas to see the flamingos and the pink lagoons.. Stop along the way at the completely untouched beaches, and swim in the blue lagoon. It's a great family day out. Please make sure you don't disturb the wildlife or leave any rubbish.

Beach trip! Only 45 minutes to an hour from the hacienda, Rio Lagartos nature preserve has some gorgeous, sparsely populated beaches- just pull off the road and walk down to the beach here! Drive down a little further and you will see the salt factories, the flamingos, and the beautiful pink lakes. Amazing photo ops here!

“Nature at its best! Rio Lagartos is a fishing village with friendly people, and excellent fresh seafood. You will board small launches, each carrying no more than six passengers that meet all Mexican Coast Guard safety requirements and carry commercial grade 1 life jackets for your safety. You will enjoy an amazing boat ride that is approximately 40 kms long to visit the flamingos’ foraging area. 43,000 Flamingos have been recorded in the Yucatan, the majority of which nest and feed in the Rio Lagartos area. Along the way your guides will point out and identify many of the species that live and visit the area. A total of 395 different species have been counted in Rio Lagartos. Crocodi”
