Monticello is very good but Montpelier is actually a more in depth tour. It has current excavations still on going. The regular priced trip gets you upstairs while you needto pay for the primo ticket to get upstairs at Monticello. We met JM himself while touring around. If you get to visit during the Fall Fiber and Sheep Dog Trails, it's such a fun weekend.
