Explore Berlin craft beer culture
Hey everyone, the tour is back with a few new beers, one new venue, and a whole lot of passion to share! You'll meet up outside of a nearby subway station in the East Berlin neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg and get to know each other before heading to a popular craft brewery nestled inside of one of Berlin's most historic breweries from 1893. You'll have the chance to inspect some brewing kettles and understand the brewing process while learning the basics of beer tasting and beer history, including the German Beer Purity Law. All while drinking a Berlin-style Hefeweizen! Then you will have the chance to get a "wegbier" while you explore the site of, arguably, Old Berlin's most influential brewery. Next, you'll stop at Berlin's only burlesque craft beer bar for a flight of local brews before finally stopping at our favorite craft beer bar in the neighborhood, right next to Berlin's famous Mauerpark. Both guides have been involved in the Berlin craft beer scene for the last 4 years and come with a wealth of insight! So, don't be afraid to ask questions! Other things to note: There are one set of stairs where wheelchair access is difficult, but doable. Spanish tours are offered, but please send a private message.

Our exploration will involve memorials, monuments and graves, along with churches and parks. Other things to note The tour is meant for adults, 18 or older. Each guide will be identified with a small yellow flag and our name!

Techno Painting with a Berlin Artist
I would like to invite you for a 2.5 hour workshop, to paint together, to discuss art and music, and to get acquainted with Berlin’s unique Techno scene. This workshop is meant for you to express your creativity. You won’t need to buy materials and you don’t need to have prior painting experience. You just need to show up and enjoy the process. In the end you will have a beautiful work of art (acrylic on canvas), made by you, ready to be hung on your walls. How it goes: First we will explore the creative process - what inspires you? What would you like to express/paint? When decided upon the subject, we will choose the best techno/house/goa set to express it and I will instruct on the correct choice and mixing of colors. We will begin to work in layers of color. We will take 2 breaks to discuss the process, evaluate the outcome so far and decide how to proceed. Drinks and snacks on me! We will create final touches and corrections and you will take your newly made Techno Painting with you. While we're painting I will gladly share the "secrets" of Berlin's club culture. Discussing the dress codes and door policies of the major clubs, where I party every weekend. Other things to note Please contact me if you are a group. I have ability to host groups up to 8 people, but details need to be discussed first.

Craft Beer from flourishing Neukölln
We’ll start our tour at the Kindl brewery where I'll explain a few things about Berlin's traditional and modern beer culture and this former big scale brewery. Inside we'll discover an impressive room with huge old brewing kettles which were once the biggest in Europe. In this incredible location we'll enjoy our first beer from a microbrewery that focuses on non-industrial, organic craft beer – the "Rollberg Brauerei". Then we'll head to "Brauhaus Neulich", an improvised brewery with an authentic hands-on approach. Finally, we'll end our tour at the Alphonse Bar, were you will try the beer that I brew myself! At the end of the tour I’ll happily answer any questions and offer some tips on Berlin and its amazing nightlife. We'll be walking a total of around 20 minutes and take the metro for 2 stations, so bring clothes according to the weather conditions. Also bring some cash, most bars don't accept credit cards! I will pay one beer in each brewery, but you might want to order more then that ;) This tour is suited for newcomers or beer connoisseurs. If less then 3 people book this tour I will have to cancel and you'll be refunded. Other things to note: I can offer my experience as a private tour. I can also offer this experience in different languages (French, German), or on different dates than the suggested ones, feel free to write me a message!
City of Subcultures
We’ll meet up at "Rent a Bike Kreuzberg", a nice little bike shop. I’ll explain why Berlin is such a fertile place for alternative projects and how its counter and sub-cultures have shaped the city. Then we’ll hop on our bikes and take to the cycle lanes, touring Berlin’s alternative sights - its collective projects and unconventional nightclubs, its parks, empty lots and street art. Our bikes don’t have big “Bike Rental” signs, so we can explore the city discreetly. Berlin is a cycle-paradise and we’ll ride slowly, so you don’t need to be super fit. We’ll see the home of the self-sufficient, off-grid Turkish-Berliner who lives in the middle of the city in a house he’s built himself, visit a hospital that became a squat that became an arts centre, then drop by a small farm run by a community of trailer-dwellers. Finally - our explorations over - we’ll return to the shop, where I’ll give you some tips for the rest of your trip. If less then 2 people book this tour I will have to cancel and you'll be refunded. Other things to note I can offer my experience as a private tour. I can also offer this experience in different languages (French, German), or on different dates than the suggested ones, feel free to write me a message!
English Comedy Show on a boat
So, here's the plan: You get to become part of one of the biggest and most fun stand comedy shows in English in Berlin! And it's all on a boat! It's a fun, vibrant, energetic and friendly show - EVERY Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We'll have pre-show drinks and then enjoy a great line up of Open Mic comics doing 5-7 minutes of material and an awesome headliner to top it all off. After that we'll have some relaxed drinks at the bar where we mingle and you get to know the comics and the other people joining the experience in a more private setting. So, ask all those questions you've had but never dared to ask about comedy. Other things to note You can smoke on deck, but not in the bar. The bar is cash-only, so they don't accept cards. And they only serve snacks, but there's plenty of restaurants and bistros nearby. If you ever find one of the experiences as fully booked, consider joining us the night before or after. We also run other shows - in fact, we have a show every night of the week - you can find the others (not on the boat), here: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/1002772

East Berlin - a Brief Tour
Unlike my other East Berlin tour ("Deeper Dive"), this shorter 2-2.5 hour tour gives you a brief introduction to East Berlin, including a look at the Berlin Wall Memorial. We’ll head east down the main boulevard of Karl-Marx-Allee, stopping at notable sights and to admire the communist-era architecture. We’ll stop by the headquarters of the Stasi, one of the most feared and effective secret police forces in history, before heading back towards the Berlin Wall Memorial. There we will see an example of the "Death Strip" and discuss life behind the Iron Curtain. If the tour is in the afternoon, we will then finish at an East German pub or beer garden. We’ll cover quite a lot of ground, both on foot and on the U-bahn - so wear comfortable shoes. I’ll give you tips for the rest of your stay in Berlin and will help you get to other places of interest. (You will need a ticket for the public transport - we use public transport several times, so I suggest you get a 24hr ticket)
