Founded by the playwright, Edward Albee, writer of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf", this is the premier Off Broadway theatre in NY for seeing amazing shows. What's more, tickets are only 30.00. They've put on seminal works by the likes of Athol Fugard and Susan Lori Parks.

The Signature is the other great non-profit theater institution in NYC. It's a quick 10 minute walk from where the bus lets off in Midtown and tickets are only $25. It also has a lovely cafe in the lobby.
